This very question had me doing a lot of soul searching
over the last few years. However, due to the conditioning
that I grew up with and the limitations that I placed on myself
because of that conditioning, I never really had the proper tools
nor guidance to get out of all that and get to know who I was
or to follow my own path. Until recently. When I say recently,
I mean from the time I turned 40 up until now at 44.
Just a little backstory, I just recently on April 8th quit my job
of 17 years in the corporate world working in the insurance industry.
It was stressful and was just plan toxic for my soul. I was just
miserable. But I kept at it because just like everyone I had bills
to pay. I was functioning on autopilot for so long that I ended up
saying yes to things just to make everyone one around me happy.
Extra hours, extra this, extra that. Basically, I became a people
pleaser. I ended up burning myself out big time because of it. Then this
year I stopped fighting the inevitable and said enough is enough.
This is my life, why I am spending my valuable time working to build
someone else's dreams when I have my own that I've been putting on the
back burner for so many years? So I made the choice to leave. Was it hard
to do so after so many years? Absolutely not, because I knew I was finally
giving my heart and soul what it needed in order go after my dreams.
Do I wish I should I have left sooner? Absolutely not, because it wasn't
the time. This was the rime time for me to leave. See, I had so many
things to learn over the years. I had to learn how to stand up for
myself. I had to learn how to say no to things that I didn't want to do.
So many beautiful lessons. I had to learn about me.
I wouldn't have been able to do so otherwise.
I have no regrets, none.
How can you follow your heart? Your own path? How can you shut
shut out the voices of the outside world?....
by going within yourself, by getting to know you. By standing up
for yourself and what it is that you believe in what you are doing.
It's by being your authentic self each and every step of
the way unapologectlly.
It's in building the foundation of confidence by taking those baby
steps in what it is to achieve what it is that you are here to do.
You have a purpose, I have a purpose; we ALL have a purpose in this life
All you need to do.....is just believe in yourself. Have faith that
everything is working out in divine order, the way it is meant to.
Go with the flow. That is where the magic is!
Have a magically blessed day!
