There is deep-rooted simplicity in the silence.
I’ve always been able to enjoy and, more importantly, appreciate the tranquility and stillness that silence has to offer.
The peace of sitting in the backyard listening to nothing but the birds singing and the feeling of the whispers of the wind blowing on my skin, letting that silence wash over me as the ocean washes over my feet as I walk on the beach.
There is simplicity in getting outside and enjoying the sights and sounds of nature.
Taking in those deep precious breaths of fresh air that cleanses both the mind and soul in a way that the hustle and bustle of everyday life cannot provide.
The realization that not every second of silence then needs to be filled with idle noise or chit-chat.
Just silence.
There is simplicity in sitting inside, staring out the window and watching the rain as it falls from the sky and hearing its rhythmic sound as it hits the window.
There is simplicity in being grateful for what you have and not needing a lot of material possessions to be happy.
There is simplicity in a stranger's smile and the hug of a friend.
There is simplicity in turning off the distractions of the outside world and spending time with loved ones.
It is a beautiful place to be - in the present moment - not worrying about the past or the future.
For We’re not guaranteed or promised tomorrow, the next hour, or even the next minute or second.
We can’t stop the inevitable from happening in taking our last breath, so why concern ourselves with a future that has no guarantees?
Why not enjoy the simple gift of this very beautiful and precious moment - this second?
There is simplicity in the present moment.
