I Am Forgiving!: A Self-Empowerment Poem

Updated: May 18, 2023

I forgive those who have said or done things in the past that have caused me pain

for in reflection, those are the actions and words that have helped shaped who I am today.

I forgive myself for allowing the words and actions of others to damped my self-worth.

I forgive my mother for all the pain and trauma in my childhood, knowing that while it doesn’t excuse her behavior, she herself didn’t know what she was doing.

I forgive myself for the Time spent living in self-doubt and fear. For not believing in myself and my full potential.

I forgive myself for years of not loving and accepting myself for who I really am. Someone who I now see is limitless.

I forgive so that I can let go and detach myself from the past so that I can live fully in this present moment.

I forgive not to show that I am weak, but to expand even further my freedom from fears and self-doubt.

I forgive so that I can choose love over hate and resentment.

I am forgiving.
